“It is one world, and it’s in our care. For the first time in history of humanity, for the first time in 500 million years, one species has the future in the palm of its hands.”

David Attenborogh
(biologist, conservation legend, the voice of the planet)

The power of the Earth is unmatched. To step on its land is to become a part of it.

We cannot dominate nature, we cannot claim it as our own because we are nature, a strand of its DNA, a piece of the pie, a chapter in the story. We have to care for it like it is kin.

What happens to the Earth, happens to us.
What happens to us, happens to the Earth.

This planet is 4.5 billion years old, and humans are thought to have evolved 200,000 years ago, which is less than 1% of the Earth’s total lifespan. When we zoom out our perspective, we have only been here for a mere second of an entire year.

In that very short period of time, we have contributed significant damage to the climate and environmental systems that we depend on. Now they depend on us to help heal them.

Caring for the planet goes deeper than deep, vaster than the ocean. It’s bigger than dreams, the widest wide because our future here depends on it. There’s not much that matters more.

One of the best ways we can support a healthier planet is to take a look at the products we use on a daily basis and consider the simple things we can switch out for similar products that are better for our bodies and the planet.

Think bamboo, hemp, recycled, reused, plastic free, biodegradable, enviro-friendly, plant based, organic, natural products ~ not because you’re a hippy, but because it’s the right thing to do.

The products below offer opportunities for us to keep the same comfort we are used to, but with a less harmful impact, more awareness of what we putting in & on our bodies, and higher intention in contributing to the greater wellbeing of life on Earth.

For more tips and insight into our kinship with the planet, and ways we can help support this global shift to renewable energy, sustainable use of materials, and greater environmental balance, check out the first of this series Kinship Earth: An Important Message About Saving the Planet & Ways We Can Help.
